  • The National Association for Legal Assistants
    This is a great site for legal assistants' professional development. There is information on certification procedures, professional standards and code of ethics, and continuing education events, including online course offerings. The "CareerNet" link allows posting of resumes and searching for job listings after setting up an account.
  • North Carolina Paralegal Website
    This site mostly provides information on the Association and its activities but does include a job bank of paralegal and legal assistant positions available in North Carolina.
  • International Paralegal Management Association
    The “Resources” link is the most useful part of the site and includes articles of interest to paralegals, a job bank, and a directory of service providers ranging from translation to copying.
  • The North Carolina State Bar
    Includes paralegal guidelines and ethics opinions of the Bar.
North Carolina Government
  • The North Carolina Court System
    Includes links for the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Trial Courts. There is a keyword search for opinions of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals; headnotes can be browsed by date, and link to the text of the case.
  • The North Carolina Court System Forms
  • North Carolina General Assembly
    Includes the North Carolina General Statutes and the NC Constitution. Keyword search can be performed on the text of bills. Lists members of the House and Senate with links to their web pages. Provides searching for local representatives by zip code.
  • North Carolina Department of Justice
    Official Web Site of the Attorney General of the State of North Carolina. The “Crime and Law Enforcement” section contains links for North Carolina crime statistics, traffic stop statistics, sex offender statistics and the sex offender registry. The "Legal Services" section includes opinions of the Attorney General and an overview of the appeals process. There is also a link to the State Bureau of Investigation, which has law enforcement forms online.

    Contains the North Carolina Constitution, the North Carolina Government Manual, Corporations Division and database, Uniform Commercial Code, Trademarks, and more. Find business forms under the Corporations Division.
  • Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds
    This searchable site provides access to many vital records of Mecklenburg County. Birth and death records are available since 1914, marriage records since 1983, real estate since 1995, and military discharge records from 1916 to the present. Also included are notary commissions since August, 1995. Images of the actual deeds, certificates, etc., are NOT available online.
  • Charlotte Mecklenburg Government
    Official City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County Government Web site has links to all departments, including “Courts and Jails.”
  • Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department
    This site contains a wealth of information about the activities and services of the Police Department. Telephone numbers, accident reports for the current month, and crime statistics are all available, as well as information on domestic violence, crime prevention, and other related topics.
